Admiral Sports Locks in League-Wide Sponsorship with MLIS
Admiral Sports, the original outfitter for all indoor soccer teams in the U.S., is partnering with the Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) to supply all teams in the league.
Indoor soccer, also known as arena soccer or fast football, has captivated sports fans across North America, providing a thrilling alternative during the winter months when outdoor play becomes challenging. The game continues to grow in popularity, particularly in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup in the USA.
The Rise of Indoor Soccer in the U.S.
Indoor soccer's roots in the United States are rich, yet complex. While forms of the game have thrived internationally for decades, American interest began to burgeon in the 1970s, including exhibitions featuring top international teams, that showcased the excitement of indoor soccer to American audiences. By the late 1970s and early 1980s, indoor soccer had found its footing, particularly with the formation of leagues like the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). Admiral Sports was at the forefront during this era, providing iconic uniforms for teams including The New York Cosmos, Chicago Sting, Detroit Express and others. This partnership helped to establish a legacy for both the sport and the brand.

MLIS
The MLIS emerged as a dynamic league for men in 2022. Since its inception, the league has expanded to include a women’s division, known as the WMLIS, and now consists of 12 men’s teams and four women’s teams, with plans to add more. Earlier this year, the league also merged with the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL), further expanding its roster of franchises. Commissioner Dominic Tourcotte expressed the league's excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with Admiral Sports, the world’s oldest soccer brand and the original uniform partner for indoor soccer in the USA. Admiral will provide all our teams with unique kits and merchandise that tell the story of our clubs and our sport."
