Admiral Sports is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Sioux Falls Thunder FC, a National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) side from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
“More and more NPSL clubs are choosing Admiral,” Admiral Sports CEO Paul Hamburger stated. “We’re very happy to be working with Sioux Falls Thunder FC, a new club that is bringing top-flight soccer back to Sioux Falls. We’re excited to see them join Minnesota TwinStars and VSLT FC as Admiral partner clubs in the NPSL’s North Conference.”
Amadu Myers leads the club as general manager. His American soccer journey is an impressive.
Myers was born in Liberia, but his my family soon moved to Ivory Coast. Growing up in a rough environment in Ivory Coast, all he did was play soccer because that was the only thing that kept him going. He moved to the U.S. in December of 2004 with his grandparents and joined the Great Plains Soccer Club. In 2007 he went on to play soccer for Lincoln High School and won the state championship in 2008.
Myers was a regular at Sioux Falls Spitfire matches and going to those games on the weekend provided him with some of his greatest memories. In 2015 he had the opportunity to play for FC Fargo and helped lead the team to the American Premier League (APL) Championship. Myers has personally been working on bringing a soccer team to Sioux Falls for the past few years and now he has the opportunity to bring this a high level of soccer to his beloved community.
“As a new team, I didn't know where to start, but after speaking with Paul Hamburger on the phone and e-mail I understood everything about Admiral products and everything they have to offer,” Myers noted. “He was upfront with me and the service is excellent. We want our players to look shape on the field and feel proud to wear our club logo. We believe that our partnership with Admiral will help us achieve these goals.”
Home matches for the Thunder will be played at O’Gorman HS in Sioux Falls.
