ADMIRAL SPORTS PARTNER CLUB OF THE MONTH (AUGUST): HOOSIER FUTBOL CLUB

Hoosier FC is a club that is turning heads, causing people to take notice of a program that is on the rise.  The 2016 Indiana State Cup proved to be a perfect example of the club’s continued development and growth.

Hoosier FC placed 19 teams in the tournament and the result was a massive success.  Six of their teams (37%) made it to the finals with two (11%) teams winning it all.  Those figures are quite impressive, but they represent an even greater accomplishment when you take them into context.  Hoosier FC had the highest percentage of teams make the finals and the second highest percentage of teams win a championship.

TWO ADMIRAL CLUBS BATTLE IT OUT IN USL PLAY

Energy FC Downs Tulsa Roughnecks FC 3-0 in Black Gold Derby

Michael Thomas, Sebastian Dalgaard and Colin Bonner each scored goals for OKC as Energy FC shut out Tulsa Roughnecks FC 3-0 and extended its current unbeaten streak to seven games Saturday night at Taft Stadium.

In first half stoppage time, a yellow card foul in the Tulsa box by Roughnecks FC’s Sammy Ochoa on OKC’s Wojciech Wojcik set up a penalty kick for Energy FC. OKC captain, Thomas, rolled the ensuing kick into the lower-left corner of the Tulsa net, opposite of the side Roughnecks keeper Jake Feener played, to give Energy FC a 1-0 lead and what would be the game’s deciding goal. Thomas’s penalty kick score was the first successful conversion for OKC in 2016, with the club missing all three of its previous chances.

By Harrison Williamson/ISNSoccer.com

After a slow start to the season, the Sonoma Sol have found themselves playing in the West Region final on Saturday. They will be squaring off against Albion SC Pros to vie for a chance to advance in the NPSL playoffs.

“It’s been a roller coaster of a season,” said Diego “Toluca” Lopez, who plays left wing for the team. “We just have to stay focused and take it one game at a time.”

The Sol started their season with a few losses and ties, but began to pick things up by the middle of the season.
