the diaspora.

A collection made to bring a community together around pride, culture, and the game.

The name

Vatan is a Persian word.
It means homeland.

Not a roster.
Not a league.
A community.

VATAN FC does not have a home ground. What it has is a community, scattered across Atlanta and far beyond it, and a founder who set out to give that community something to wear that felt entirely, unmistakably theirs.

At a moment when many in the Iranian diaspora are watching events back home closely, founder Shevah Rezaee wanted to make something that could bring people together around pride, culture, and the game rather than any single point of view.

The founder

Heritage,
carefully carried.

Rezaee is an Atlanta-based soccer referee and sports creator whose work blends on-field officiating, community advocacy, and a strong sense of regional identity. In 2024, Georgia Soccer named her Female Referee of the Year.

Her family originally comes from Iran. The collection grew from that heritage through months of deliberate design work with Admiral’s team, finding symbols that would feel authentic without being divisive.

Five details.
One considered identity.

01

The crest

A gold “IRAN” wordmark sits above Tehran’s Azadi Tower, rendered as a clean, modern shield that anchors every piece.

02

The cheetah

A detailed Persian, or Asiatic, cheetah crosses the lower body of several pieces, drawing on one of Iran’s distinctive native animals.

03

The pattern

A subtle tonal floral and vine pattern, drawn from traditional Persian textile and architectural design, runs beneath the graphics on the black pieces.

04

The stripe

Green, white, and red appear in a single shoulder stripe on the black jersey and track jacket, a quiet nod to home.

05

The wordmark

VATAN sits across the black jersey’s back yoke, where the Faravahar emblem has historically appeared on Iranian shirts, respecting that tradition while taking a new direction.

“Siah”
black kit.

The flagship piece carries the Azadi crest, Persian cheetah, tonal floral underlay, and green-white-red shoulder stripe. It is fully sublimated so the artwork never fades, peels, or cracks.

Friends and members of Atlanta’s Persian community modeled the first drop. Traditional textiles, gold jewelry, and the collection’s pieces sat side by side, a deliberate mix of heritage and modern kit design in front of the camera.

That same community focus continued around the launch and its local partners. Back Home Beer came on as sleeve sponsor. Conversations with Rumi’s explored front-of-jersey sponsorship and staff uniforms during the World Cup. El Valle, owned by Persian brothers, sponsored the launch party, while Atlanta streetwear designer Fani agreed to carry the collection at Closette.

The launch

A room full of people who share a homeland, watching a match together, wearing it.

VATAN FC’s launch event brought the community together to watch Iran take on Belgium at the World Cup, with Persian-inspired food and cocktails from El Valle and Persian DJs on the night.
