AFC Wimbledon today staged a ‘fashion show’ that temporarily diverted attention from tennis in SW19 with a kit launch event that unveiled the new Admiral range in style.
With first-teamers, coaching staff, academy players and AFC Wimbledon Girls and Ladies parading the new kits on a catwalk set-up especially for the event at Centre Court Shopping Centre, it was an event that really captured the imagination.
The Sky Sports News cameras were also present at a kit launch that was very well attended and the event is expected to be broadcast tomorrow (Monday) from 6.00 am on the channel.
Captain Alan Bennett and Andy Frampton are pictured above sporting the new home and away kits, which proved to be very popular afterwards with Dons fans queuing up to buy the Admiral products.
Ross Worner and Billy Bishop modelled new goalkeeper kits and Kevin Sainte-Luce, Chace Jacquart, along with Neal Ardley and his coaching team, also sported kits and training wear.
Alan said: “It’s lovely and they’ve done a nice job with it. I’m looking forward to playing some matches in it. It’s been brilliant to see so many fans here including young kids and their parents. It is getting exciting now for the start of the season.”
Speaking about the sizeable turnout from Dons fans, Andy said: “It really shows where this club is heading and to see so many fans here is a big boost to the lads. It should be an exciting season ahead with the new signings we’ve made.
The new kits will be available to buy at our Meet the Manager event on Thursday, 10 July, which we announced details of on Friday. Click on Your AFC Wimbledon to view this previous announcement.
